Where the Dashboard gives you a number, the Chart gives you the shape of it. It plots your <GlossaryRef term="Net Worth" /> across a period you choose, and lets you lay other lines over the top to see what drove the movement.

## How it works

The chart opens showing a single line — your net worth — with a totals strip above it. Everything is drawn in whichever currency you've picked in the top bar.

### The lines you can add

Click a name in the legend to turn a line on or off.

| Line | What it plots |
| --- | --- |
| **Net Worth** | Your total net worth. Shown by default. |
| **Assets** | Everything you own, over time. |
| **Liabilities** | Everything you owe, over time. |
| **Cost** | What you paid, so you can see it against current value. |
| **Benchmark** | The benchmarks you've selected, for comparison. |
| **Cumulative Income** | Income accumulated across the period. |

Three of these — **Assets**, **Liabilities**, and **Benchmark** — are fetched the first time you switch them on, so expect a brief pause before the line appears.

<Note>
  **Cumulative Income is shown on its own.** Turning it on hides every other line, and turning any other line on switches it back off. It's designed to be read by itself rather than layered with the rest.
</Note>

Your choice of lines lasts as long as the browser tab. Close the tab and the chart returns to showing net worth only.

### Choosing a time range

Buttons above the chart set the period: **Last Week**, **Last Month**, **Last Quarter**, **Last Year**, **Last 12 Months**, and **Since Inception**. The calendar icon opens a custom range — you can pick any window up to today.

**Intraday** and **Yesterday/Last Close** aren't available on the Chart. If either is selected elsewhere, the chart falls back to **Last 12 Months**, because a single day doesn't plot a meaningful line.

## Using it

### Reading a point in time

Hover anywhere on the chart. The tooltip shows that date and the value of every line you currently have switched on, in your selected currency.

### Downloading the chart

The download button at the top right of the chart offers **PNG**, **JPEG**, **SVG**, and **CSV**.

The three image formats save the chart as you've currently configured it — same lines, same range. **CSV** gives you the underlying numbers instead, which is the one to use if you want to work with the data in a spreadsheet. Files are named `Annise_Value_` followed by today's date.

## Troubleshooting

<Troubleshoot title="The chart is empty">
  There's no history to plot yet. Once you've connected an account or added a holding, Annise begins building the history the chart draws from.
</Troubleshoot>

<Troubleshoot title="A line I turned on vanished when I clicked another">
  You most likely had **Cumulative Income** showing. It displays on its own — switching on any other line turns it off, and vice versa.
</Troubleshoot>

<Troubleshoot title="The Benchmark line doesn't appear">
  You haven't selected any benchmarks yet. Set them under **Settings** → **Benchmarks**, then switch the line back on.
</Troubleshoot>

<Troubleshoot title="I picked Intraday but the chart shows a year">
  Intraday and Yesterday/Last Close aren't plottable ranges. The chart substitutes **Last 12 Months**. Use the **Performance** card on the Dashboard for same-day movement.
</Troubleshoot>

<Troubleshoot title="My lines reset to just Net Worth">
  Line selections last for the browser tab session. Closing the tab or opening Annise in a new one starts from the default view.
</Troubleshoot>
