Settings and profile questions
Short answers about Annise settings — what lives in your profile versus Family Office settings, two-factor authentication, notification channels, default currency, domicile state, permissions, and why parts of the Settings menu may be missing.
What's the difference between my profile and Family Office settings?
Your profile is about you — your details, security, and how you're notified. It follows you across every Family Office you belong to. Family Office settings configure one Family Office and apply to everyone in it.
What's in the Settings menu?
Alerts, Allocation Goals, Benchmarks, Default Notifications, Income Taxes, Permissions, and Subscription. Estate Taxes is listed but not available yet.
Why can't I see everything in the Settings menu?
Your role decides. Members with admin rights see all of it; view-only members see only Alerts, Allocation Goals and Benchmarks; advisors don't see Permissions.
How do I find out what I'm allowed to do?
Open the Access tab in your profile. It lists each of your memberships with the role you hold and whether you can view and edit.
How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
In your profile, under My Profile, switch on Use 2 Factor Authentication. You'll be asked to confirm a code before it takes effect.
How do I change my password?
In your profile, under My Profile. Enter your existing password, then the new one twice.
Why can't Annise Support see my account?
The Allow Annise Support to Access My Family Office and Profile setting in your profile is off. Turn it on so the team can look at what you've reported.
How do I stop getting a particular notification?
Open Notifications Settings in your profile and switch off the channel you don't want for that notification. Email, Push Notification and Text Message are set separately.
What's the difference between Notifications Settings and Default Notifications?
Notifications Settings in your profile is your own preference. Default Notifications under Family Office settings sets the starting point for the Family Office as a whole.
How do I change the currency everything is shown in?
Default Currency on the Family Office Details card sets the fallback for the whole Family Office. The currency selector in the top bar changes your current view only.
What is Domicile State?
The state the Family Office is domiciled in, set on the Family Office Details card. It feeds the Family Office's tax estimates. It's separate from the State in your own profile.
Where do I set tax rates?
Under Settings → Income Taxes, where rates are set by state. Your personal tax location — Country, State and Tax City — is in your profile instead.
Where do I change my plan?
Under Settings → Subscription. For what each plan includes, see Plans & Pricing.
How do I rename a Family Office?
On the Dashboard, open the menu on the Family Office Details card and choose Edit. You need admin rights on that Family Office.
Can I delete a Family Office?
Yes, from the menu on the Family Office Details card, if you have admin rights. It can't be undone — everything belonging to it is removed.
Where do I set my benchmarks?
Under Settings → Benchmarks. They're then used on the Chart and on Analytics.
