Getting around Annise
The sidebar, the top bar, and the controls that shape every view — the Family Office switcher, currency selector, security search, data status indicator, and Refresh All Data.
Two pieces of furniture stay with you everywhere in Annise: the sidebar down the left, and the top bar across the page. Between them they control what you're looking at and how it's expressed.
How it works
The sidebar
The sidebar is your main navigation. Items that hold more than one view expand when you click them.
| Item | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Messages | Your Messages and alerts. |
| Dashboard | Your Family Office Dashboard. |
| Schedules | Capital Calls and Maturities. |
| Managers & Advisors | The companies and people managing your money. |
| Owners | Your Entities and Individuals. |
| Accounts | Every account, listed individually. |
| Transactions | Your full transaction history. |
| All Holdings | Everything you hold, in one list. |
| Private Holdings | Private and non-traded holdings. |
| Account Holdings | Holdings grouped by the account that holds them. |
| Settings | Alerts, Allocation Goals, Benchmarks, Categories, Default Notifications, Income Taxes, Payees, Permissions, and Subscription. |
A few sidebar items are marked as coming soon. They're visible but not yet available to open.
You can collapse the sidebar with the control at its top to give the page more room.
The top bar
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Status indicator | A green dot means All good! If anything needs your attention, click it for the list. |
| Search | Find a security. |
| Currency | Restates every figure on the page in the currency you choose. |
| Family Office name | Click it to jump back to your Dashboard. If you belong to more than one Family Office, the dropdown beside it switches between them. |
| Your initials | Opens My Profile, Notification Settings, and Access. |
The status indicator
The dot is Annise telling you whether your data is in good shape. When it isn't green, clicking it lists what's wrong and takes you straight to it:
- Transactions — Inconsistency(ies) found. Something in your transaction history doesn't reconcile.
- Accounts — Online and Running Balance differ. The balance your institution reports doesn't match the balance implied by your transactions.
- Accounts — Re-authentication needed. A connected institution needs you to sign in again.
Refresh All Data
At the bottom of the sidebar. It clears everything Annise has cached for your Family Office and reloads the page, so every figure is fetched fresh. Use it when numbers look stale after a change you've just made.
Beside it, a QR code downloads the Annise iOS app, and the version number of the web app is shown at the very bottom.
Using it
Switching Family Office
Click the dropdown beside your Family Office name and pick another. Annise clears the current view and reloads against the one you chose.
Changing currency
Pick a currency from the top bar. It applies to the figures on screen — it doesn't change your Family Office's Default Currency, which is set in Family Office Details.
Troubleshooting
Click it. The list that opens names each issue and links to the view where you can fix it — most often an account that needs re-authenticating.
Use Refresh All Data at the bottom of the sidebar. It clears Annise's cached copy and reloads the page from scratch.
Items marked as coming soon aren't available yet. If an item you expect to use is greyed out, check your access under Settings → Permissions.
